Creative Process Facilitation
Guided sessions that nurture creativity and meaning-making
Our Approach
Lillie guides groups through the Jewish Studio Process, which is in the lineage of art therapy and Jewish spiritual practice. This guided creative practice and meaning-making space nurtures our inherent creativity with depth and intention.
Sessions are designed to help individuals and groups metabolize their experiences—emotionally, spiritually, and collectively—through art-making and reflection. This approach can be used in response to a particular event or as an ongoing practice and is accessible to folks regardless of spiritual background or relationship with creative practice.
The Jewish Studio Process is a ritually held experience that moves through the following steps:
-

Inquiry
Guided small group learning drawing from the Jewish practice of Beit Midrash (house of inquiry). This can be refined to be secular or for a particular spiritual community.
-

Intention
Intention setting for the art-making process. Each participant will start by naming what they want to welcome in or setting a boundary around for their creative making. We encourage writing an intention in the present tense, as if it is already happening.
-

Exploration
Exploration of your creativity through any medium, such as painting, music, dance, daydreaming, etc. Follow pleasure and what feels live for you.
-

Reflection
A written stream-of-consciousness response to both what you’ve created and your experience of creating called witness-writing.
Lillie was trained by Rabbi Adina Allen, Dr. Pat B. Allen, and Rhonda Johnson during a two-year intensive fellowship immersing herself, alongside a wise intergenerational cohort, in the Jewish Studio Process method and practice.
